If you go to Ethiopian bars/night clubs there's almost guaranteed to be one fight (fist fight...beer bottles). It is common to hear an Ethiopian saying they are tired of Ethiopian (sometimes, aka, abesha). But, take any one of these folks away to a place where there are no other Ethiopians, they'll either go crazy or wilt and die. Eritrea+Ethiopia are mortal enemies, 1998 war killed 150k+ soldiers. So there is Ethiopian soccer festival here in DC( june 29-july 6) and its the biggest gathering outside of ethiopia. Actually it rotate among many states every year but since this year is 25th anniversary of this event, its going to be a big event( about 30,000 flock in from other places). The main activity is in RFK stadium for the whole week so if you make a visit there one day (weekdays after 3pm or fri &sat is advisable) you will get enough info for the next your 2nd or 3rd topics ( if you contemplating for one)and plus you meet ethio women in abundance so little or no competition to get one and plus the cultural experience will be enjoyable and hope you will have good time. check this site out for detail. www.esfna.net Hey chris.
