I’m getting rammed in the ass yet again this tax season, this time owing the federal and DC governments over $1,000 in fucking goddamn taxes in addition to the withholding I already have to put up with.

The second most rage-inducing day of the year for most salaried Americans is the day they look at their W-2s and see exactly how much the government is taking out of their incomes. The number one rage-inducing day comes the day right after that, when you realize what the federal and local governments are doing with your stolen money:
- Unleashing entire congressional committees on baseball players for steroid use, as if anyone gives a shit
- Spending $255 million PER DAY on a bogus and unwinnable war in Iraq, much of which the Pentagon freely admits to wasting
- Spending $67 million PER DAY on a bogus and unwinnable war in Afghanistan that, for some odd reason, nobody is fucking talking about anymore
- Pretending to chase Osama Bin Laden through the mountains of Pakistan/Afghanistan when, in all likelihood, he’s getting a hummer from Jenna Bush in the White House as I type
- Giving the Department of Homeland Security a $46.4 billion budget for 2008, nearly all of which will be wasted. I once worked a DHS contract with Lockheed Martin that billed 11,000 man-hours in 13 months at an average of $120 per hour. Not a single deliverable had been produced by the time I got fed up and left Lockheed to work with private and non-profit clients. No one was ever fired as a result of any of this.

What amazes me about American political leadership is this:
- Bill Clinton lies under oath in civil deposition regarding a sex scandal, and is impeached
- George W. Bush starts ‘pre-emptive’ wars on multiple fronts after orchestrating attacks on the WTC and Pentagon*, runs the federal deficit into the TRILLIONS of dollars, allows thousands of American soldiers and HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF IRAQIS to die under false pretenses, withdraws from the Kyoto protocol and claims global warming “ain’t happenin’” while proposing manned missions to Mars for some fucking reason, and single handedly drives the American economy face-first into the ground while sitting over TWO recessions during his term…AND THIS DUDE IS BARELY BEING QUESTIONED ABOUT IT WHEN HE SHOULD BE TRIED FOR WAR CRIMES, NOT TO EVEN MENTION IMPEACHMENT!
What’s more, MY FUCKING TAX DOLLARS ARE PAYING FOR THIS SHIT
Personally, I believe in reparations, but not in the traditional sense. I don’t want a giant lump sum of inflation adjusted dollars for the forced labor of my ancestors distributed evenly among hard working black people who’d put the money to good use and stupid ass black people who should be lit on fire.

I simply believe that reparations should consist of the following:
1. If you a.) are black, b.) can prove your direct descent from a black American slave, and c.) can prove the victimization of a direct ancestor by Jim Crow in the south or de facto segregation in the north within two generations - you never ever have to pay income taxes again
2. If you a.) are Native Amercian and b.) can INDIVIDUALLY prove a Native blood quantum of 1/4 or higher - you never ever have to pay income taxes again
This, of course, will never happen.
Instead, I have to sit here fuming at the big red font on Turbo Tax that says “Federal Tax Due: $1,014.98″ while suppressing the urge to smash my head through the monitor.
*In general I am not a conspiracy nut, but I believe wholeheartedly in the 911 conspiracy. People tell me I’m nuts to think that Bush would kill thousands of American citizens just to get his hands on more oil/money and to tighten his authoritarian grip on the country. I tell people that they’re nuts for not believing he’d kill a whole lot more American citizens for a whole lot less. This is because I believe George W. Luckily, I dont owe this year. But I am still trying to understand why more than 4024 men and women US soldiers are dead. What are we fighting for again? How did we shift from Afghanistan to Iraq? I owed taxes one year, I was livid. Even with my second job’s W-4 allowances being set to ‘0′ they still found a way to tell me ‘we’re not taking enough money from you, this is how much you owe’. I want to see the formula they use to come up with this shit, i mean really.
I knew today would be taxes, or tourists (both evil). This year is the first time I owe and I’m PISSED. I’ve been taxed about $5000 this year, and I owe?! I should pull a Wesley Snipes.
Oh, and I agree w/ the 911 thing. Living in NY that is something I don’t think I’ll EVER get over. I really felt my mortality that day. Looking out my window and seeing that. Seeing the footage of people dropping to the ground, LIVE. All while this motherfather reads Go Goat Go with some kids… even before Michael Moore came out w/ Farenheit 9/11 I had my doubts about what really went on and what we were being told..

As far as the tax break, that will never happen because “Bush (the gov in general) does not care about black people”… Kidding. (sort of) But we all seen what happened during hurricane season a few years back. We can barely get a break on a home loan so if there was such a break it would only be granted to a very small pool. I think I may have read somewhere that a few blacks actually have gotten reparations. I may be wrong though.
And the only native americans they care about are the Cherokee and a few from Canada (french). Even the breaks they give now aren’t for everyone. I applied for a tribe card thinking that I could go to school for free (if youre at least you are 1/4 Native american *from certain tribes* you can get a free college education at any approved school courtesy of the grand ol’ USA ), but quickly learned I can only get $2500 a year because the Choctaw are only worth that much.

True. But I think the gov has been far more generous to the NA’s than to blacks. Many Native American tribes actually have gotten their reparations. There was a big deal when the Cherokee got theirs because Black tribe members from the CN were not included. The same thing happened to Black Seminoles. That tribe got there reparations AFTER they excommunicated the black memebers.
The US gave $$$, loans, grants, scholarships, tax free businesses etc. to certain Native tribes, but deliberately made sure that black decendants could not participate. Maybe one day it will change. There are alot of law suits going on in the US and I know Haiti is suing France for the same thing.

Here’s an idea-
Seeing as how paying taxes through withholding is simply giving the government an interest free loan, you might try to deduct the money yourself from every paycheck and put it into a high interest yielding savings account and when tax time comes around, you can pay your taxes and keep the extra couple hundred you made, for yourself.
Even better… if you can, put the money in a 12 month CD that pays a higher percentage, and then keep that excess after you pay your bill.
My mom taught me about that, and this year I made $211, it aint much ( cause I owed 4g’s), but it softened the blow a bit
More good news- If you take the time to start a (cough) company. Go to your county registrar’s office and file a DBA (doing business as), it cost like $22 to register your (cough) company. With that, you can legally not pay taxes for about five years with no penalty. You would just chalk it up to business losses ( be prepared to show some type of information should you get audited of course, but that is fairly simple to produce). After five years, a business that doesn’t turn a profit is considered a hobby and thus the tax free-ness ceases.
Or you could REALLY go into business for your self doing whatever and take the most random deductions from your 1099 income. Take all your friends out to eat and consider it a business expense, deduct gas mileage, all that.

Here is my opinion on this whole thing. Throughout history various methods of “crowd control” have been implemented on societies as means to ensure the concept of the “rich get richer and the poor get poorer.” The only thing that has changed has been the actual ways of implementation course.
Terrorism is one of the most popular methods of ensuring crowd control and is perfectly shown in todays society here (as seen with 9/11 and Bush making a loose justification for a war that benefits he and his fellow rich brethren). But you know what… the buck just doesn’t stop there when it comes to terrorism because quite frankly, throughout the history of this country itself, various acts of sheer malevolence has plagued all of the races… ranging from lynchings to burnings (burning of “witches” post lies and ignorance). These can ultimately be tied into (dare I say it) religion… which at one time (as another person has mentioned) was used as another scare tactic to control the crowd and ensure that the rich got richer and the poor got poorer.
Of course this isn’t what they teach you in history class and instead feed you what they want you to believe… just like what is shown on TV to ensure social engineering continues to keep smart people from outsmarting those who have money.
I could literally go on and on and on and on about various conspiracies… but I won’t (please save the “thank gods” and “I’m glad he’s shutting up). But its imperative to see the larger picture and think outside of the box. Unfortunately ~88% of this country doesn’t and therefore takes everything for face value.

Forget labor money, I would want reparations for all of the societal damage done during and since slavery! For the rape, and the splitting of families, and the mental anguish and abuse that was passed from generation to generation.
If the American Gov did anything with reparations, it should be free education for black youth in America. Keep the cash, I can get my own damn money, but let’s make it a little easier for our kids to get an education and free themselves of the slave mentality. That’s priceless.

@ Chris- I mentioned the exclusion of blacks from NA reparations because people like you and I know that black tribe members were not given the same treatment b/c like I said the gov didnt/doesnt care about black people. But on to my comment:
-I am fully aware of the hardships NA’s face. Wrong is wrong. I never said they were living in the lap of luxury. But as far as reparations go, the U.S. was generous to every group but blacks. Maybe you feel that generous is too strong of a word, so I’ll say payout instead. So, blacks deserve the same “payouts” NA’s received.
-Even though black people have made strides toward doing better over the years, the government has NEVER attempted to more than a shrug and an “oops!” to blacks but has paid monetary debts to NA’s, Jews and the Japanese, and apologized. That isn’t fair. I wouldn’t have qualified for Choctaw $$$ for being a black one, but I can get $$$ for school b/c im 1/4??
-Blacks (and many other groups) do not have to take a blood test to prove their blackness because unlike blacks in PR, DR, or Brazil, many blacks here can’t “pass”. The skin, nose, body shapes… you know they’re black.
-It is a shame that NA’s have are forced to live on reservations to remain in touch with their identity, but let us not forget that when blacks leave harlem for corporate america they must leave behind dreds, cornrows, or afro (even women), the “hood”, hell, anything stereotypically black because they will be deemed “unprofessional”. I have heard quite a few lement that they had to sacrifice their “blackness” to get the job/promotion/respect. It may not be the same, but many ethnic groups have to sacrifice their identities to suceed.
-There are many other groups that have yet to recover from what the US did to them-take a look a mexicans who live near the US border.
-We all know that there is poverty so bad in parts of the south where the average income is less than $10000 and there is no running water. These are not reservations.
-Once again I never said the NA’s have it made. I just know that even though blacks are a minority, our stats have disproportionate lows: blacks have the lowest IQ’s, males in college, access to health care, home equity and median incomes (even lower than Hispanics)
And disproportionate highs: AIDS/STDs/STIs, abortion, infant mortality, job loss, incarceration, chemical dependancy, smoking, diabetes, rates and death rates from heart disease, stroke and cancer.
We STILL suffer from those set backs. We deserve $$$ too. thats all im saying.

Even if it was offered for free it wouldnt help everyone. You have to want an education. I’m just going off the assumption that you mean higher learning. As far ask K-12, better learning conditions (ex: smaller class sizes, humane conditions) would help, but you still have to have that hunger for knowledge. The gov’t can’t help with that, but the parents can. They can make, perpetuate or break that mentality.
I’m laughing at the people who say the best way to save on taxes is to have a spouse and some kids.
