Its funny many women who 'relax' their hair, are awefully tense about it. Particularly when they are losing it. And they manage to run to natural haired women to ask them about how to resolve that. They ask me how my hair grows so quickly, and how theirs can do the same. I dont reply anymore, I just tell them 'keep doing what you are doing, you will be fine'. They dont want to hear the truth anyway, so why waste my time?

Wow! I have noticed that most black people may like the stright hair for than natural. At <a href="http://blackpicvote.com/" rel="nofollow"> Black Pic Vote <a> the women who have straight hair normally have a higher rating then the all natural. <a href="http://blackpicvote.com/" rel="nofollow"> Click Here <a> go by a see for yourself.

@Anmarie "I attended a Nikki Giovani speech and listened as she talked about meeting women with breast cancer that would rather die than become unattractive to men by loosing their breast. Right then i decided to stop perming my hair, stop burning up my scalp trying to look like someone else. Black people were not feeling me, and some folks were actually freaking offended by the fact that I cutt my “long pretty hair” my own hair!"

I am currently getting my hair back after receiving treatment for breast cancer. You don't know how many women will not receive treatment because of their damn hair.

I used to get relaxers and wear wigs. I just plain didn't like my hair. Now, I am bald (I have less than an inch). For now, it's straight but I am sure the naps will return in a few months. Before being diagnosed, I was in the process of going natural but I wasn't going to do the Big Chop. Guess the joke was on me. I ended up being one of those bald-cancer women you see. I didn't wear wigs, scarves, hats, nothing. It was amazing.

Embrace your natural hair. Be grateful you have hair and treat it as if you were to lose it tomorrow.

This post pisses me off because majority of the time, women are straightening their hair because the 9/10 men that we see on a daily basis don't appreciate it when it's natural. I've had a natural style, wore it to the club, and didn't get ONE SINGLE LOOK. But the minute I pressed the shit out of my hair, step out of the house, it's all good. Men are superficial as hell, and unfortunately, we feed into that shit. I guess it will have to take a mass of black women to start going natural with afros and twists and shyt at the same time in order to have any effect.

I love my puffy hair. I try to comb and pick it very gently so as not to break it and then I wear it out everywhere I go. Before bed, I section my hair into puffs after another combing/picking session and go to bed. Sometimes I put olive oil or mint oil in it for the day (my scalp used to be abused by relaxers and stuff and it was irritated, flaky and dry), but never at night.

I will never try to straighten my hair ever again becuase I will never give into social pressures from other Blacks or outsiders.
